BEST IN BRIDAL BEAUTY

The road to your ultimate bridal beauty look starts with the best inspiration, so we bring you the most luscious bridal hair and makeup looks that will colour 2017!

Bridal hair and beauty this season is fresh, flirty and au naturel. The perfect look works to enhance your features rather than cover them up. Foundation should be flawless but light, with a hint of highlighter for the perfect bridal glow. To glam up your makeup, focus on one feature. Bold lips should be paired with soft eyes and smoky lids worn with nude lips. For colour, expect a movement towards pearl, peach and bronze tones in the warmer months and matte mauve, reds and silver for the cooler months.

Hair is windswept, soft and romantic whether it’s worn up or down, and colour is natural with fine highlights or balayage to add dimension. We’re crushing on tousled waves or a lo-fi blow dry; a glam gown with simple hair is the epitome of cool-bride style.

BRIDAL BEAUTY COUNTDOWN

Bridal beauty is so much more than makeup. It’s about becoming the radiant, confident and healthy bride you always dreamed you’d be. Grab your wedding calendar and get ready to primp yourself pretty – this is your bridal beauty countdown.

12 MONTHS

Pen your goals and pin your inspiration. Take some time to measure yourself and take a good look at your skin. Set some realistic, honest goals about what you’d like to achieve for your big day.

See the specialists. Head to a dermatologist to get your skin profiled and ask about the best ways to tackle any concerns. The best way to manage skin issues is by starting a regimen early to give it the most time to work. We love the SkinB5 anti-acne program for managing pores and pimples and Dermalogica Age Reversal Eye Complex for fine lines around the eyes.

Meet with hair and makeup stylists and start booking your trials! By now you should have a better idea of your wedding style and the hair and makeup looks that will suit.

Seek advice from healthcare and fitness professionals about lifestyle and diet changes to help you reach your goals.

See your regular hairdresser and discuss how you should grow, cut or colour your hair to suit your chosen wedding day hairstyle.

Book in your hair appointments up until the big day.

Facial and resurfacing treatments are a great booster for luminous skin. Try them well in advance to make sure they work well with your skin type, and plan future cycles closer to the big day! We love the HoMedics Radiance Microdermabrasion device for an at home treatment.

Check out your brows! They frame your face so it's important to get the shape just right. There shouldn't be any pre-wedding events taking place around so it’s the perfect time to let your brows grow out and get them #onfleek.

Ace your tan! If you want to look bronzed a fake tan is the only safe way to do it. Unless you regularly fake your bake, chances are you'll need to try a new product or tanning salon. Ask people for recommendations and try the tan out as soon as you can! This way if it doesn't work out, you have plenty of time to for the tan to fade and to try others. We adore Bahama Brown for a faux glow that leaves you tanned like a supermodel, but smelling like an angel.

1 MONTH

Have your makeup and hair trial and if possible, do them at the same time so you can be sure that you are completely happy with your look.

2 WEEKS

Remember that amazing facial treatment you experimented with a few months ago? Book your final appointment within two weeks of your big day to put your freshest face forward! Just be mindful of how your skin recovered from your last use and allow enough time for your skin to be renewed.

Finalise your cut and colour.

Trial your bridal mani and pedi. Keep in mind a gel polish will last longer than regular polish.

1 WEEK

What you put inside will show on the outside, so now is the time to practise restraint! Minimise dehydrating food and drinks to keep your skin looking dewy and do your best to avoid coffee and tea to keep your smile bright!

Get your brows shaped.

Have in for your final spray-tan and remember to moisturise everyday to keep it looking fresh.

Get your nails done.

ONE MORE SLEEP

Before you go to bed, lather your hands and feet in moisturiser and slip into mani-pedi socks and gloves. They'll work wonders while you sleep and leave your hands and feet looking soft and supple. We love AEOS biodynamic nail & cuticle oil.

THE BIG DAY (YAY!)

Give your hair a good wash. Most hairstylists will need you to have freshly washed, non-styled hair the morning of, but double check if there are any other requirements.

Smile and enjoy your wedding day! There is nothing more beautiful than a happy bride!
