DAY TO NIGHT
These killer day-to-night tips will keep your hair and makeup looking better than a snapchat filter, 24/7/365.
SPRING
Look alive after a long, dark winter with an exaggerated flush of pink to your cheeks. Sweep blush along the cheekbone blending upward toward the temples, and layer until rosy! Wear with shaggy, textured locks à la Alexa Chung for undone perfection.
Transform this girly look for night with kitty-cat liner. Apply like traditional winged liner, but extend downward slightly past the inner corner of the eye. Balance this foxy feline makeup with a loose, distressed side braid. #meow!
SUMMER
Get beach-babe ready by flaunting a faux tanned face. For a hint of sun kiss, use bronzing primer under your makeup, but for a ‘just-got-home-from-vacay’ hue, dust powder bronzer on your forehead, cheekbones, nose and chin; and a little to your neck and collarbones so the colour matches. Finish with a fun hair flick by parting to the side and sweeping tresses over.
Slay summer nights with luscious high-shine metallic lipsticks and glosses in bronze, beige and peach shades. Pair with slicked back hair by combing smooth locks back from the hairline or part and tucking behind the ears. Finish with strong hold hairspray to keep in place.
AUTUMN
Make the most of a fleeting summer tan by adding rose gold, burnt copper and rich auburn tones into your eye-makeup palette. These colours will pick up on the bronze in your tan and keep you looking golden.
Cool weather is the perfect time to flaunt a new fringe. Whether it’s wispy and brow grazing, centre parted 70s style or full bodied and blunt, a fringe is a quick way to update your hairstyle without too big a change.
Add a bit of drama to your eyes at night with lots of lashes, liner and layering dark brown shadow to create a sultry smoky eye. Keep your bangs sleek and straight at night with a blow dry, and for an über polished look, pull hair into a low bun or chignon. Très chic!
WINTER
Dry, flaky skin is beauty rock-bottom in winter, so get dewy with illuminators! If you’re #blessed with perfect skin an illuminating primer will give you a healthy glow. If you’re prone to a blemish or have fine lines, all over illuminator will highlight these areas. Instead, dab a cream highlighter along the top of your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, along the brow bone, Cupid’s bow and a touch on your chin for a deliciously dewy complexion. Wear with super soft waves created by curling locks and brushing them out with a fine bristled brush.
At night, use colour to pop one feature. Rock a rich red or burgundy lip, or a hit of electric blue on the eyes for something unexpected! Glam up your tresses at night by working a high-shine spray into your perfect waves!
